About Savannahs

A Savannah cat is a hybrid of African Serval and a domestic cat. Savannahs are distinguished by their late physical and slender and their large ears. This is one of the newest breeds in the world, and only a few breeders have successfully coupling a Serval to a domestic cat.
All foundation Savannahs are referenced by an F and a number indicating the number of generations separating them from their ancestor serval.     • F1 (~ 53% serval)     • F2 (~ 29% serval)     • F3 (~ 16% serval) etc.

Servals are wild cats that require special enclosures, diet and special care. Having purebred servals and couple them with domestic cats is expensive, difficult and requires much time.

The SBT Savannah

The history of SBT Savannah begins with A1 Savannahs. A1 Savannahs. SBT also descends from a Serval but so far at least four generations. While many F1 to F5 Savannahs were crossed with domestic cats, the SBT Savannah Savannah is a "pure race" that is guaranteed Savannahs relatives only at least 3 generations.
The size is the appearance of a SBT Savannah is like a Savannah F4 or F5 SBT but has several advantages.
The SBT Savannahs have a more consistent type. Their personality and their size are more predictable and their temperament. An SBT Savannah is the ideal choice for a family with children and other pets.

Wish you had a Savannah?

The size of the Savannah cat depends greatly on the size and type of his parents as well as the percentage of blood that it has serval.
The greater the Savannahs F1 and F2 generation males. They become about 2 and a half times larger than a domestic cat, weighing 6 to 12 kg, sometimes even exceeding 13,5kg. F3 males are still much larger than a domestic cat. We product F3 males weighing up to 9 kg, but the standard is 7 to 8 kg.
F3 females and all subsequent generations cats are smaller but they keep their long legs, big ears and their wildness. Savannahs reach adult size in about 3 years.
Savannah cats are very affectionate and sociable. They are particularly intelligent cats are quick learners. Most Savannahs love to explore the outdoor environment on a leash, or stay home and play with the family. Some report their toys or follow their favorite person around like a little dog. A Savannah does not like being treated as a normal dog, he wants to be part of the family and share all its activities. They love the water and we were often surprised by a visit in the shower!

Good to know

Savannahs are cats that fit very well. They get along with children that respect, and if your new cat or dog is sociable, they most likely will sleep together with your new Savannah.
Savannahs can be fed with a feed of high quality cat. Vaccinations and treatments are the same as for a domestic cat. All our kittens are taught to clean, they are vaccinated before going to their new owner. Do not do declawed! Declawing is inhumane procedure and it is an amputation of the proximal phalanx. We are strongly opposed.
Savannahs high percentage of Serval are rare and very difficult to produce. It takes a lot of years and a chance to get to couple a Serval and a domestic cat. Only a few breeders in the world had a chance to succeed.
Worldwide only-have-been A Few breeders lucky in doing so
