ANIMALS - After being mistreated and thrown violently against a facade then in a grove by a man now arrested by the police, Oscar the cat is traumatized but escapes with two fractures. One of the leg, the other to the shoulder.
This is a "miracle", recounts the SPA Marseille on BFM TV. "Honestly, we did not think find this cat alive [...] we were pretty pessimistic. We know that it was not possible that he survived such violence, such barbarity."
"Two years in prison and 30,000 euros fine"
The manager, "Farid of Morlette" - as he called himself on Facebook - was arrested and taken into custody Friday in Marseille after the publication of videos on the internet showing the cat throwing up repeatedly.
He was jailed Saturday and will be judged on immediate appearance Monday for "cruelty to pets or tamed." He faces up to two years imprisonment and 30,000 euros fine.
On the net, the story has moved and shocked many users who repeatedly called to punish the young man, particularly through a petition today that records nearly 140,000 signatures.
